Who Am I?

I am just a regular person who has the same kind of heartache and trials as the next person. At an early age, I faced rejection, miscarriage, divorce with three small children, financial crisis, but one day, I met someone who introduced me to Jesus. Life has never been the same. Don’t get me wrong, I still face trials and heartache such as a second divorce at 52, but I discovered that giving my situation to God and following His wisdom has made all the difference in the recovery time. Proverbs 24:3-4 says:

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

By allowing God to heal my emotions and use biblical wisdom to shape my life, my home and heart are filled with beautiful treasures.

Some of my treasures are obvious. I have an intimate relationship with Jesus and my Heavenly Father, who rescued me from a pit of despair over 30 years ago. In the last few years, I married a very loving and caring husband, who seriously tries to give me my every wish. My 3 wonderful children are now grown and live nearby with their families, which includes 8 grandchildren and 2 adorably awesome great-grandchildren. I presently live in a southern climate enjoying mild winters in the beauty of East Texas, not to mention numerous great friends and a loving church family.

Some of the less obvious would have to include a peace in knowing that no matter what happens, God will see me through anything. He has shown me who I was designed to be and how my giftings can be a help to others.

I spent so many years trying to be a false me, but now I want to shout this…
                     it is completely freeing just to be the real me!

It is exhilarating to use your own abilities and passions to bless the world around you. I have now developed a love for cooking and serving others through hospitality and of course, I revel at the opportunity to teach the things I personally experience from studying the Bible. I simply ooze with gratitude for the life God has given me.

I created this blog because I want to be that person who introduces you to Jesus, so He can show you the life He designed you to live. I have much to share on getting through the most painful moments and still have joy. I desire to give you the inspiration and maybe even a kick in the backside to get you up and out of discouragement so you can find your own treasures. Do you desire more in life than the ordinary? Are you tired of doing life on your own and you’re ready to know what God has to say personally to you? Can you name your own passions and gifts? Well, hang on and read on because I am praying for you and I believe with all my heart that God has a special and uniquely designed plan for you. He has gone to a lot of trouble to send me your way because He loves you that much!

Thanks again for stopping by. Stay awhile and allow God to speak to you through these bits of encouragement. Be inspired to not settle for an ordinary or broken-down life, but follow God into your most adventurous days yet. I would love to hear from you and hear your stories, as well. Together, we can face this thing called life with a smile on our faces and a spring in our step. Happy treasure hunting!!!
